School of Humanities & Social Science (SHSS)

SBUP’s School of Humanities & Social Sciences offers a four-year BA (Hons) semester based undergraduate program with specialisations in Psychology, Political Science and Economics. The program aims to provide academic foundation, develop analytical and communication skills and foster global citizenship and ethical conduct. Students can get certificate after two semesters; diploma after four semesters; Bachelor of Arts degree after 6 semesters; and BA (Hons) or BA (Hons with Research) degree after completing internship or dissertation in 7th and 8th semesters.

In the first two years, students will study foundation courses like psychology, political science and economics along with interdisciplinary subjects like digital literacy and environmental studies. Third and fourth semesters will introduce advanced topics like abnormal psychology, intermediate microeconomics and comparative government. Fifth and sixth semesters will focus on specialised subjects like public administration, macroeconomics and statistical methods. Seventh and eighth semester will be internship or research based learning with advanced electives in areas like Indian political thought, econometrics and consumer psychology.
